Budget
Due to the fact that my friends and I are still students with no full time jobs or careers in the near future, it is important to all of us that we keep the costs as low as possible. As I have already stated, one of the reasons we decided on Iceland was because it is different and the costs of tickets is relatively low in comparison to other places we considered. After extensive research into planning this trip, we believe it is possible to do this trip for under $1,200 per person.
Expenses
FLIGHTS
With WOWair the cost of flights for 4 travellers for a round trip from Toronto, Ontario to Reykjavik, Iceland

Arrival: Monday, September 12th, 2016 at 3:20 pm from Reykjavik - $259.00 CAD
Total Cost of Round Trip Flight per person:
$444.26 + $84.30 (tax, fees, and charges) = $528.56 per person CAD
CAR RENTAL
Car Rental Company: SADcars
3 Door Toyota Yaris
Unlimited Kilometres
Total: $934.20 CAD/ 4 people = $233.55 each
GAS
Information retrieved from: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=31734
355 Miles per Tank
42.18 L Gas Tank x $2.66/L = $112.00
Ring Road Trip is 850 Miles
850 Miles/355 Miles = 2.4 Fill Ups (round up to 3)
3 fill ups x $112.00 = $336.00 CAD
Total gas money per person: $336.00/4 = $84.00 each
ESTIMATES OF OTHER TRAVEL EXPENSES (FOOD AND ACTIVITIES)
Remainder of our budget will be allotted to food expenses, such as, groceries and the occassional meal out. Since we have no specific plans for what we will be doing each day, I can only estimate approximate expenses on activites.
Flights + Car Rental + Gas Money = $846.11
Therefore, according to our budget, we will have $353.89 to spend accordingly.
SUPPLIES
Most, if not all the supplies required for this trip we already have, including, a four person tent, blankets, pillows, sleeping bag, map, minimal clothing and warm clothing, hiking boots, protein bars, and travel documents
